Your summative report is a comprehensive evaluation of your professional performance over the evaluation period. It brings together observation evidence, scores, and evaluator feedback, and gives you an opportunity to reflect on your growth before the report is finalized. This article walks you through each step of the process from a teacher's perspective.
What Is a Summative Report?
A summative report is the final evaluation completed by your evaluator (such as a principal or administrator). It summarizes your professional practice and growth across the year.
Your summative report includes:
An overall performance score
Observation evidence collected throughout the year
Component-level scores aligned to professional standards
Key strengths and areas for growth
Evaluator comments and narrative feedback
The process is collaborative; after your evaluator completes their portion, you'll review the report, add a reflection, and sign before it is finalized.
