Overview
Reviewers in Lebra are users who provide additional observation and feedback support for specific employees as part of your Ascend evaluation process. They work alongside Evaluators and can be paired with one or more people in your organization.
You'll typically assign Reviewers when a teacher, staff member, or other employee benefits from having a secondary observer — for example, a department lead reviewing alongside the primary evaluator.
This article walks you through how to assign Reviewers from the Assignments page, either to a single person or in bulk, and how to see at a glance who already has one.
Who Can Use This Feature
The Assignments page is available only to Admin users.
The Ascend module must be enabled for your organization.
How to Assign a Reviewer
From the left sidebar, click Settings.
Under Pathways, click Assignments.
Locate the people you want to assign a Reviewer to. You can use the search bar or filters at the top of the table to narrow the list.
Choose one of the following:
For a single person: Click the ⋯ (more) menu on that person's row and select Assign Reviewer.
For multiple people: Use the checkboxes to select rows. The toolbar then displays Bulk Assign ({count}) and Add to Group ({count}). Per-attribute assignment, such as Assign Reviewer, is available from each row's ⋯ (more) menu.
In the Assign Reviewer window, you'll see the message "Select reviewers for {count} people."
Use the Search reviewers... field to find the user(s) you want to assign as Reviewer.
Check the box next to one or more reviewers.
Click Assign ({count}) to confirm.
You'll see a confirmation message: "Reviewer assigned to {count} person." (or "Reviewers assigned to {count} people." when assigning multiple).
To exit without saving, click Cancel.
Seeing Who Has a Reviewer
The Assignments table includes a Reviewer column alongside Framework Role, Pathway, and Evaluator. People without one show Not assigned, so you can scan the column to find gaps before the year starts.
To narrow the list to specific reviewers:
Open the filters at the top of the table.
Use the Reviewer filter and the Search reviewers... box to pick one or more reviewers. The filter is multi-select, so you can combine several at once.
Select Unassigned to show only people who don't have a Reviewer yet.
Click Reset filters to clear your selections.
Removing a Reviewer
Find the person on the Assignments page.
Open the row's ⋯ (more) menu.
Select Unassign Reviewer.
Important Notes
Permissions: Only Admin users can access Settings > Pathways > Assignments and assign Reviewers.
Multiple assignments: A single Reviewer can be assigned to many people, and a person can have more than one Reviewer.
No duplicates: Assigning the same Reviewer to the same person twice updates the existing relationship instead of creating a duplicate.
No automatic emails: Reviewers are not notified by email when they are assigned.
Bulk selection: You can use the Select all matching results option to assign a Reviewer across every person matching your current filters in one action.
Available actions: Each row's ⋯ (more) menu also includes Assign Pathway, Assign Evaluator, and Assign Role, which work the same way as Assign Reviewer. When multiple rows are selected, use Bulk Assign or Add to Group from the toolbar.
Where Reviewers appear for staff: Employees see their assigned Reviewers in the Evaluator Information section of the Staff Portal, below their Primary Evaluator.
